Hello,
Today my post is about MISHOP festival.
I am taking some classes at MISHOP which is an organization where children and adults from different countries come to study Japanese. The 21stOctober it was the Mitaka International Exchange Festival. It is held every year to bring people together for a day of fun. There are performances, exhibitions, oishi (delicious) food and shops.
The tent booth is where Embassies, NGO's or other organizations which represent every areas of the world are selling food, crafts, and more. There were short performances and demonstrations with a strong international flavor, along with a fair trade section. A lot of countries were there like Brazil, France, Vietnam, Argentina, Mali, and Thailand. The food was very good too. We tasted sausages from Central America and bread from Europe and chicken and ice cream from Africa. We painted our hands with the flag of France and the flag of Japan. I liked my mom's flag better because they had glitters and mine didn't. Then we went to wear kimono's at the kimono stand. The system was little bit long. We needed to sign up on a list and then we were call in the tent to finally try on the kimono. With the kimono on a photograph took pictures of us. The kimonos were very beautiful but also very tight. I was always saying ”Wooh ooh”. We were both very pretty in our kimono's and we did a lot of pictures.
Mishop Fellowship Area
The area introduced MISHOP's activities. There was origami which is the Japanese art of making things with paper, games and calligraphywhich is the Japanese art of writing. In the origami class I did a kind of weapon that samurai's use but I forgot it's name. I learned how to write my name in Korean and got a stamp with my name on it. It was actually a rubber and a man had written my name on it with a little knife by taking out the pieces of rubber that he didn't need. Me and my friend asked everyone who was near the stand and had children if they wanted to come and play a game with us. We had cards on the floor with hiragana's written and then a teacher from MISHOP tells one hiragana and we had to find it. The one who finds it first is the winner and can take the card. At the end of the game(when the cards are finished)the one who has the cards is the winner. But the smaller children were faster. Then all the little children won and the bigger children like me lost.
Kids Area
There were all sorts of things from around the world for children to see, listen to, and try out! We could win prizes doing a Bingo Quiz, too! There was an area where we could try a car but it was a small one!!! A playing car of course. There was also a soccer area.
Hope you like it. XOXO
Purple love,
